The Royal Alexandra Theatre and its neighbourhood

Sun. August 25, 11 AM.

The Royal Alexandra Theatre,
anchor of the Theatre District, celebrates its 106th birthday on August 26th.
Hear the story of the theatre and explore the multi-layered history of
the surrounding neighbourhood.

With developments slated for "Restaurant Row" on the south side of King, west of John St, and for "Mirvish Way" on the north side, east of John, catch this walk NOW, while the heritage buildings still stand. It breaks my heart that so many 19th and Edwardian structures are slated for partial or total demolition.

Tour Start Point: Simcoe Park, just E of the CBC Broadcast Centre and across from the Toronto Convention Centre (Front St W)

Map

This year we're asking everyone to pay what you can with a suggestion of $5/walk. No reservations required. Just show up at the start point.

Dogs and children ARE welcome on this walk.

Bicyclists, please  note that the sidewalks are narrow so consider  parking your
bike along  the route. The end point is only about 2 blocks  from the
start point.
